GOALS!!!

I have set some new goals. I'll share the main one with you. I have made a goal that I WILL NOT go to bed until I have walked a minimum of 10,000 steps a day (which equals out to be 5 miles). At first I thought I wouldn't be able to, but I've done very well. There have been a couple of nights I've been out walking until 10:30 at night, but I've reached my goal for quite a few days in a row now!

So right now.... all I have to say is.... if my hind end isn't smokin' hot by the end of the summer, I'm am going to officially become a couch potatoe!!! hehehehehe

Summer!!!`

It is officially summer vacation!!! Actually my kids have been out since last Thursday, but I didn't really count the weekend because it was a holiday weekend. Yesterday was the first day of summer break and I have to admit.... it went pretty good!!! The morning started off great, and I was able to accomplish more housework then I do when the kids are gone to school (due to the fact that they played with the baby and were outside most of the morning) I could definately handle a summer like this, if it were like that everyday, I will keep my fingers crossed!

So I am going to get myself a summer present, I deserve it right???? Staying home with kids all day every day definately earns me something special right???? Anyone who know me, knows that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE music!!!! So guess what I am finally getting myself..... YEP...

A new Ipod Touch..... I am soooooooo excited!!!! I'll tell you how much I love it later, I think I am leaving right now to go to the city and get it!!!! YIPEE!!!!

Things that make me smile!!!

I have been trying hard to look on the bright side of things.... so here are a few things that make me smile today!!!

My kids.... of course. They are so loving and innocent

my husband (although he is sick this morning, that doesn't make me smile)

I love that Shal tries so hard to please everyone (most of the time) and that she thinks she is old enough to do anything!!!

I love that Geege is learning the violin, and is a natural at anything she does. ( I believe this is from her HUGE lack of fear! .... gotta love that girl)

Dawson always makes me smile with his willingness to help, he is almost my best helper and he can be such a gentlman and awesome big brother.

yep, you guessed, it Briella makes me smile because she is sooooooo LOUD!!! She is a spit-fire and I love it

Addi, what 's not to make me smile about this one.... she is so kind and thoughtful. She will always comes up to me and hugs me and says "mom, I love you" and when I ask her to do something, like (I LOVE THIS) "Addi, can you go get me a diaper?" and she says " Ummmm, ya, sure!" Really fast!!! It is so cute! (and it's a diaper for the baby... not me!!! ha ha :)

And I smile everytime we turn on the song "Walk the line" by Johnny Cash and Taliya starts shaking her head and waving her hands (she's dancing) it is so fun!

I love to laugh, I love to Smile. Last night while driving back home from a violin recital, we passed a few little houses along the way that were out in a field and somehow they seemed to have this "serene glow" around them. It seems so peaceful, fun, and inviting! I'm sure you would have to see this to understand what I mean, but it definately made my heart smile to feel that feeling!!!!

And all of you..... who may or may not be following my blog!!!! You make me smile, however those who are following me, make me smile more!!! he he he Have a good day, and try to be thankful for the little things that make you smile everyday!!!!!

Love....

O.k. I'm sure some of you have seen the story on the news about the little boy that was beaten, tortured, killed by his mom and her boyfriend. I haven't had a chance to actually sit down and think about this (till now). And to be honest, I haven't wanted to. It makes me sick inside, and I really get emotional over someone so small and innocent being treated in such a horrific way, and losing their life because of the pain and injury suffered by someone else's hand. This makes me cry! He was 4. I have a 4 year old little girl, and my heart hurts to think of anything like that happening to her. oh, this is so sad.

I will admit, I am not the perfect mother, and I don't always know how to deal with children sometimes, and I find myself getting angry often, I have spanked my children in the past, but I haven't ever found myself to actually get to the point of breaking. Sometimes I wonder, if it would make them listen better, but I obviously know that it wouldn't, that's why it has never been done. I understand that people deal with things differently and not everyone has patience. So tell me, why do you guys think things like this happen and what do you think makes them get to that point and continue instead of handing them off to a neighbor or something before you do something unforgivable, and is there anything anyone can to do to help prevent something like this from happening?????

I love my kids. And if I need to have more to bring them to a happy loving home, then I will. (No, I'm not pregnant, but if I were I would be grateful!!!) Children deserve better, and if I and my husband and children can provide a place for "something better" then send them my way!!!!!! I know I can't save the whole world, but I can start... one child at a time!!!!post signature

Little green words!

O.k. so I came to my blog to check and see if I had any comments on my mothers day post. I did... (thanks Jana). As I was looking through my post, there were these little green words that popped out at me. So I clicked them and they brought up some sort of add. Happy Mother's Day!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there!!! I can't even begin to explain how much motherhood means to me!!! First with all the influential mothers around me, especially my own mother, I have learned so much from my own mom and have learned bits and pieces from all the other mothers in my life!!! My heart is full of gratitude for all of them! And my heart is bursting with joy over the fact that I have the opportunity to be a mom!!! I love being a mom (today... anyway. :0) j/k I'm not sure there is anything out there that brings more joy into my life then my children, a simple smile from them, the way they look at me with such love and adoration, the way they give me a hug for no reason, their laughter that fills our home everyday, and their patience with me as a mother! I pray every day that I am doing the things and teaching them the things that they need to know to grow up and be EXTRAORDINARY, because they are just that..... EXTRAORDINARY!!! I love them, and am glad to be their mother! So Happy Mother's Day to me too!!!

Now for my mother's day gift!

I don't even know (literally) when the last time my back end touched a bike seat!!!! Well, I do now, because I got it early... on friday! And my back end is feeling it! Bike seats don't quite feel the same when you are older and chubbier!!! Ha ha, my bottom is very sore, but hopefully I can break it in..... (that doesn't quite sound right does it. ??? he he he) My favorite thing is that it's purple... my favorite color, and I love love love, the little trailer for my 2 youngest! Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed it already and love running outside to go for a ride, this quite possibly could be my best mother's day present ever....( except for the little monsters that made it possible for me to celebrate mothers day)!! I love things that bring back fun memories and allow me to bring out the child in me!!! I'm so happy..... "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" (that was me squealing!!!) LIFE IS AWESOME!!!!!

Pictures

Okay Jaime, but just so you know, this DOESN'T count as a post for you :-p

I'm BAAAACK!!!!!!!

I am just about convinced that I need to pick up blogging again...... just about. At this point I'm not even sure why I would other then for my own record and journaling, because I'm sure from my lack of dedication and being so sporadic at it, no one is possibly following me right????
So, I have had a lot on my mind lately. Things ranging from organization, to scrubbing the shower, to getting a tan (I can't possibly go out in public this summer without one) :) to really wanting a pedicure (I've never had one... professionally, unless you consider me a professional), to what road trips I'm going to take this summer! Lot's on my mind.
I can use the excuse that I am a mother of 6 little bugars, but really that is no excuse for my lack of blogging, I can make time for whatever I need right, it's just a matter of making it!!! So i will try a little more, because I actually want to start another blog, but before I do that, I figured I needed to see if I could update this one daily or atleast every other day for a while before I go forward with that!!!
We got some new family pictures. We didn't get a ton of shots, due to bad timing, bad weather, bad children, etc. but we got a few good shots. This is the part that might make you mad, I don't know how to post them. My best friend took them, and sent me the web images, but for some reason I can't upload them. So I am going to leave that up to someone..... whom I will not mention. So if they don't show up magically in the next few days..... get mad at her, not me!!!! he he he

AMAZING!!!

Being a mom, is a hard job.... isn't it? I have always loved it, since the day I became a mother. I was thinking the other day of all the comments I have gotten from people who think that I am crazy for having this many children (and I still can't say I'm finished!!!) and believe me..... a lot of them are not nice comments. But I have gotten used to it and I try to remember the people who are proud of me and give me great compliments (thanks...) Anyway what I was thinking about was that during the pregnancy I was thinking how can I do this? "My sixth child...... this is going to be wierd having another one", but I realized the other day that I can't imagine life without her already! She is soooooooo much a part of our family in such a short period of time! I am so blessed with the children that I have!!! And I can't imagine life without any of them! There is not one of them that I would send back!!!! I am blessed to have such a cute family! Life would not be the same without my kids!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!

post signatureLife has changed in a good way, and will never be the same, but we can't say anything but "we're sure glad she came!!!" Here's to being a mother of 6!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOO!

Holiday fun!`

Thanksgiving was great! We went to Dave's parents house and had the whole family together for the first time in a few years! I forgot my camera though, so I have no pictures of that.

The next fun thing that we did, was..... I got a wild hair and decided that it would be fun to take our kids on the polar express. There is a city not far from us that turns their train into the polar express for Christmas. So I called up my best friend to see if she and her family wanted to go with us. So off we went!!!!

I can't say it was the brightest idea..... it was crazy with all the kids, but they all had a blast! We got a cookie and hot chocolate and went to the North Pole and saw Santa!

Then we came back from the North Pole!

The kids really did have a fun time! I am completely convinced that it was not worth what we had to pay to do it!!! But it is a fun memory, unfortunately half my pictures didn't turn out for some reason! But I had a great time being able to go with my family and my best friend and her family (and no we didn't even get a picture with all of us together) it will be a fun thing to remember, but chances are,,,,,,,, it will probably not happen again, in our lifetime!!! But you never know!!!
